KUWAIT CITY, Jan 26: The Ministry of Public Works stated that it responded to 219 complaints it received during the rain on Tuesday, adding that these complaints came from all six governorates, reports Al- Anba daily. It revealed that Ahmadi Governorate ranked first in the number of complaints with a total of 65 complaints, followed by Farwaniya Governorate with 42 complaints, Capital Governorate with 41 complaints, Hawally Governorate with 25 complaints, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate with 24 complaints, and Jahra Governorate with 22 complaints.

In another development, informed sources stated that the Ministry of Public Works has signed a contract for the maintenance of directional signs on roads. They explained that the duration of the contract is two years. It is one among the contracts that are offered periodically and continuously.

It is concerned with maintenance, supply and installation of road signs and traffic signs of all kinds and forms. The contract also pertains to the maintenance, supply and installation of new safety barriers, as well as the side mesh fences of the roads in all parts of Kuwait, including highways, according to the general maintenance requirements determined by the Maintenance Engineering Affairs Sector in accordance with the conditions, technical specifications and approved plans for the work of this contract and capacity on the basis of the unit of measurement for each item.
