Quarter Ton of Potatoes Unfit for Human Consumption Destroyed

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21:Inspectors from the General Authority for Food and Nutrition in the Capital Governorate recently carried out an inspection tour, resulting in citations for 20 violations. Mohammed Al-Kandari, Head of the Mubarakiya Center at the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, stated that the inspection revealed multiple issues in the Mubarakiya markets.

These included the discovery of food items deemed unfit for human consumption, with noticeable changes in color, shape, and smell. Violations also included workers handling food without health certificates, employers hiring unlicensed workers, and failure to adhere to general hygiene and personal cleanliness standards.

Additionally, some food establishments were found operating without the necessary health licenses. Al-Kandari emphasized that a quarter ton of potatoes, which were deemed unfit for consumption, was destroyed. He reiterated that anyone found endangering consumer safety will be held accountable.
