KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: In a significant move to bolster public cleanliness and regulate various aspects of urban maintenance, the Kuwait Municipality has commenced its inaugural inspection campaign. This initiative aims to scrutinize the operations of public cleaning services, implementing stringent monitoring, supervisory, and executive procedures for cleaning contractors and companies. The campaign also targets the tightening of control measures over street vendors and the seizing of stray animals.
An official source within the municipality revealed to Al-Rai that Engineer Saud Al-Dabbous, the Director General, has emphasized the imperative need to activate and enforce laws, regulations, and decisions pertaining to public cleanliness and road occupancy across the governorates. The campaign is set to kick off in the Hawalli Governorate, with subsequent phases gradually covering other governorates in the coming period.
Highlighting the key focal points of the campaign, the source outlined six main areas related to cleanliness and street vendors. Notably, recent improvements in cleanliness levels have been observed in private and model housing areas. This positive trend is indicative of a comprehensive development plan at play, orchestrated by the services sector led by Meshal Al-Azmi.
As the inspection campaign unfolds, the Kuwait Municipality is poised to bring about positive changes in the landscape of public cleanliness, ensuring the effective implementation of regulations for the benefit of residents across various regions.
