The new regulations impose fines ranging from KD 3,000 to KD 5,000 for anyone who sets up a spring camp or conducts activities at designated seasonal camping sites without obtaining a license from the municipality. It also applies to individuals who set up camps outside the authorized camping period, which begins tomorrow according to the Environmental Protection Law, or those who acquire a license through fraudulent means. Violations also include camping or engaging in activities outside the specified area, limits, and period set by the municipality, as well as using or training with firearms of any kind at the campsite. The regulations also focus on preserving the natural environment and protecting wildlife, prohibiting the establishment of permanent structures made from construction materials, and banning the creation of earthen barriers or any harmful fences to demarcate camp locations.
Furthermore, the regulations prohibit activities such as digging trenches, excavating soil, and transporting earth across the site. It also forbids the use of construction materials like asphalt, cement, or other harmful substances to level or modify the campsite, as well as the use of heavy machinery and equipment for soil leveling when present at campsites. The new regulations prohibit the dumping, burning, or burying of any type of waste in the wild environment. Licensees are required to dispose of waste only in designated areas and must remove it at the times specified by the municipality. The regulation also forbids activities such as grazing, hunting, or disturbing wildlife within camping sites. Furthermore, the regulations mandate that all waste generated during the spring camp or associated activities must be removed at the end of the camping season or upon the expiry of the license. The campsite must be restored to its original condition as it was when the license was granted.
