KUWAIT CITY, April 16: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will ask the Kuwait Municipality to allow some air conditioning maintenance centers to open in preparation for the summer in order to address the expected increase in demand for such service during this time of the year.

Sources explained this will allow technicians to work in the field of maintenance of air conditioners even during curfew, provided the breakdowns are not temporary and that it might be difficult to postpone maintenance works; considering the short time outside the curfew hours will lead to accumulation of repair requests.

In a related development, the Ministry of Interior asked the Municipality to open some garages to repair police cars; while it is not yet known whether these centers will be allowed, if it is approved, to provide services outside the police cars or will they be limited to such vehicles only.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Commerce extended for a period of three months the implementation of Ministerial Resolution No. 96/2020 regarding the disbursement of subsidy items for ration card holders and personal identification cards, such as civil and security cards.
