Municipality orders immediate removal of encroachments without warning
Kuwait’s violations monitoring team intensifies campaign to tackle land encroachments.

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19:  Engineer Fahd Al-Muwaizri, Head of the Violations Removal Department at the Farwaniya Governorate Municipality Branch and a member of the Encroachments and Violations Monitoring Team, has confirmed that any violations will be addressed immediately, following a decision to grant the team the status of judicial police.

Al-Muwaizri emphasized that the team will handle violations, infringements, and encroachments with "direct removal," without the need for prior warning.

"The campaigns are ongoing and will not stop," he stated. "In fact, the pace of work will be increased until a decision is made by Minister of Municipality Abdul Latif Al-Mishari to halt them. The minister’s decision to form the committee did not specify the duration of the work."

Al-Muwaizri further explained that the team’s main challenge during its campaigns is not so much related to livestock owners (herders), but rather the significant issue posed by illegal warehouses being converted into storage and scrap sites. He noted that areas such as Mina Abdullah, Al-Wafra, and Arifjan are particularly affected, with a high percentage of violations. These desert regions are considered some of the most encroached upon areas in Kuwait.
