Municipality ramps up cleaning campaign ahead of Kuwait-South Korea match

KUWAIT CITY,  Nov 14: Kuwait Municipality's cleaning teams are intensifying their wide-scale efforts to clean main roads and streets across the country in preparation for the upcoming football match between Kuwait's national team and South Korea, set for Thursday evening at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.

Mohammad Al-Jabaa, Director of the General Cleaning and Road Occupations Department at the Municipality's Farwaniya branch, stated in a press release that the cleaning campaigns are focusing on removing anything that could obstruct the road or detract from the general appearance. This initiative is part of ongoing field campaigns scheduled for November and December.

Al-Jabaa noted that the campaign not only aims to clean streets but also to monitor violations and enforce legal actions where necessary. He highlighted that inspection teams are committed to enhancing overall cleanliness, focusing on highways, main roads, internal streets, and waste removal.

He explained that the field campaigns led by the General Cleaning Department’s inspection team have involved clearing expressways of sand and waste and thoroughly cleaning the areas surrounding Jaber International Stadium for the match. In addition, 100 waste containers have been placed around the stadium.

Supervisors are regularly monitoring cleaning efforts throughout the governorate, ensuring all obstructions and unsightly items are removed. Al-Jabaa emphasized that the supervisory team will strictly enforce general cleaning and road occupation regulations, taking legal measures against any violators. (KUNA)
