School Music Teacher Took Salary Without Working for 16 Years

KUWAIT CITY, April 8:  The Criminal Court has convicted a music teacher of embezzling 182,000 Kuwaiti dinars after it was discovered that she had been absent from her job continuously from 2008 to 2024. This extended absence came to light through fingerprint attendance records across multiple schools, confirming that she had not reported to work during the entire 16-year period.

In court, the accused acknowledged the charges and expressed her willingness to repay the embezzled amount in installments. The case highlights a rare but serious instance of administrative oversight, drawing attention to the importance of accountability mechanisms within the public sector.
