KUWAIT CITY, Jan 8: A policeman working in the General Department of Coast Guard was arrested from a desert spot in Jahra Governorate and referred to the Drug Control General Department after being found in possession of illicit narcotics and drug paraphernalia. According to security sources, a rescue patrol from the Jahra Police became suspicious of a vehicle that was parked in a dirt lot at night and had the lights on. When the patrol approached the vehicle, the driver attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended.
The driver appeared to be in a disoriented state, and upon searching his car as a precaution, several items were discovered. These items included a bag containing a white substance suspected to be heroin, a second bag containing a white substance believed to be shabu, another bag with remnants of what appeared to be heroin, and a tin foil with a dark-colored, burnt substance suspected to be heroin. Drug paraphernalia was also found. Meanwhile, Jahra support patrols arrested four drug users found in possession of shabu, hashish, chemicals, and narcotic pills, along with tools for drug use. The arrested individuals were subsequently referred to the competent authorities for further action.
In another development, personnel from the Directorate- General for Drugs Control have arrested an unidentified man, who is believed to be in his 30s, for possessing and consuming drugs. The daily added, the suspect who has not been identified was caught in Salmiya and has been handed over the concerned authority. Police have also seized from the man drug consuming tools.
