KUWAIT CITY, Jan 23: The Financial Disclosures Receipt Supervisor at the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) Mohammad Abdullah announced that the authority received 46,099 financial disclosures, representing 99.6 percent of the required submissions, as of December 31, 2024, reports Al-Rai daily. Abdullah explained that the disclosures received included 20,608 first-time declarations for individuals assuming positions covered by financial disclosure regulations. Nazaha had received 17,832 updates for disclosures that were three years old, as well as 7,659 final declarations related to individuals who had ceased holding positions covered by the disclosure requirements. Nazaha is committed to its ongoing work of receiving financial disclosures and ensuring compliance with the relevant provisions. He emphasized that Nazaha continues its efforts to receive financial disclosures from individuals covered by the relevant provisions.
Abdullah highlighted Nazaha’s commitment to continuous coordination and cooperation with the entities to which these individuals belong, adding that this collaboration aims to encourage the timely submission of declarations within the legal deadlines. He urged declarants to check the start dates for submitting their financial disclosure statements via the Sahel platform to avoid any delays in the submission process. Furthermore, he stressed the need to print and complete the declaration forms before visiting Nazaha’s headquarters to submit the financial disclosure statement. Abdullah revealed that all necessary forms are available on the official Nazaha website - www.nazaha.gov.kw. He highlighted the important role of authorities in regularly updating the data of employees required to submit financial disclosures. Abdullah stressed the importance of cooperation with the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority to ensure it receives the required data. He reiterated the significance of the financial disclosure statement in preventing financial corruption, protecting public funds, and enhancing oversight over individuals in public positions, adding that this process plays a huge role in protecting public employees and upholding transparency and integrity within state agencies
