NBK Marks ‘International Fraud Awareness Week’ by Intensifying Financial Awareness

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 05: As part of its ongoing efforts to promote financial and fraud risk awareness, National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) marked the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)’s annual International Fraud Awareness Week by organizing various activities and initiatives for employees to highlight the importance of fraud prevention strategies and protecting individuals and companies from this ever-evolving threat.

In this context, NBK launched an exclusive competition for employees on its internal Instagram account related to fraud awareness, offering a cash prize to encourage participation and deepen understanding of fraud prevention strategies.

In addition, Digital Communications team displayed fraud prevention tips on digital screens across NBK Headquarters to reinforce key messages and ensure continuous visibility for all employees.

The team also conducted an interactive social experiment to test employees’ knowledge about fraud, which received impressive results showing all NBK employees are well-informed about fraud-related issues.

Such initiatives and activities reflect NBK's dedication to empowering its employees and educating them on the latest common fraud scams. This also aligns with supporting the global efforts to raise financial awareness to combat all types of fraud, promote economic stability, and strengthens trust in the banking sector.

Launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait, in cooperation with Kuwait Banking Association (KBA) and Kuwaiti banks, the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign is the largest across the GCC region focusing on raising banking and financial awareness among banks’ customers. The campaign covers a variety of crucial topics including anti-fraud tips, maximizing benefit from banking services, promoting savings and investment culture, as well as other related topics.
