Neptune at its closest point to Earth today

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 21: The Ol-Ajairi Scientific Center has announced that the giant blue planet, Neptune, will reach its closest point to Earth today, Saturday. According to a statement provided to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Neptune will be fully illuminated by the sun, making it visible throughout the night and brighter than at any other time this year, offering the best opportunity for observation and photography.

The center noted that Neptune can be viewed in the Kuwaiti sky using a small telescope, where it will appear as a small blue dot. However, only larger telescopes will reveal more detail.

Additionally, the statement highlighted that tomorrow, Sunday, the moon is set to rise around 10 PM, coinciding with the Pleiades star cluster. This conjunction can be seen with the naked eye facing east and will remain visible until it fades with the morning twilight at sunrise.
