KUWAIT CITY, Sept 25: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced it will launch a campaign titled "Awareness Protects Your Rights, Responsibility Enhances Your Trade" on Thursday to promote consumer awareness and safeguard consumer rights.

Abdullah Al-Harz, the official spokesman for the Ministry, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Wednesday that the campaign, running until December 26, aims to educate both consumers and commercial license holders about the importance of understanding their rights and duties, which helps foster a fair and balanced commercial environment.

Al-Harz emphasized that the campaign's slogan reflects its core values, stating, "Awareness of your rights is the shield that protects you as a consumer from unfair practices and empowers you to make informed and thoughtful decisions."

For commercial license holders, he explained that the responsibility to provide products and services according to established standards and laws "is not just a duty but a key to success and sustainability." He added, "When merchants act responsibly, they build customer trust, which in turn contributes to the long-term success of their businesses."

He also noted that the Ministry has assembled a team that will be present at four shopping malls during the campaign to offer consultations and explain the rights of both consumers and traders. One of the campaign's goals is to enhance awareness and create a commercial environment that ensures rights and supports business success.

Al-Harz urged the public to visit the Ministry of Commerce and Industry booths in the shopping malls and take advantage of the services provided, adding, "Together, we can contribute to building an aware and responsible commercial community."
