Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, Minister of Education

KUWAIT CITY, July 30: Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, announced on Monday the formation of a committee tasked with comprehensively reviewing Kuwait's internal and external educational scholarship policies. This move aims to reduce academic failure and align with national goals to enhance the education system and optimize the benefits of scholarship programs.

In a press statement, Minister Al-Adwani highlighted that educational opportunities, particularly scholarship programs, are integral to Kuwait's strategic vision. He emphasized that investing in human capital is crucial for comprehensive and sustainable development in the country.

"The scholarship programs are not only investments in individuals but also in the country’s economic future," Minister Al-Adwani said. "They are vital tools for fostering development and preparing a generation of leaders and innovators."

However, the Minister noted a significant challenge: academic failures, dropouts, and withdrawals from scholarship programs are leading to substantial financial waste. This issue hampers efforts to elevate higher education standards and achieve sustainable development.

To address these concerns, the committee will focus on implementing effective measures to minimize waste and ensure that scholarship programs are utilized to their fullest potential. This initiative aligns with high Amiri directives to enhance transparency and protect public funds.

Minister Al-Adwani assured that the committee would deliver its report promptly and reiterated his commitment to providing the best educational opportunities for Kuwaiti students. He underscored that these students represent the future of the nation and are a critical asset for the country’s development.

The committee's review and proposed solutions are expected to play a key role in refining Kuwait’s educational strategy and ensuring the optimal use of public resources.
