New Decision Allows Government Workers Over 60 to Transfer to Private Sector

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: The Public Authority for Manpower revealed that the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Youssef, issued Decision No. 11 of 2024, amending certain provisions of the Public Authority for Manpower Decision No. 842 of 2015. This decision pertains to the transfer of workers between employers and includes the cancellation of Decision No. 1809 of 2023, which previously restricted the transfer of workers from the government sector to the private sector unless they held a university degree.

The source clarified that the new decision benefits all government sector employees, even those over 60 years old. The aim is to leverage the skills and experience of workers in technical and other fields, thus contributing to the development of the labor market.
