KUWAIT CITY, March 15: The Mosques Sector Department at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs has issued a reminder to imams and muezzins, urging them to inform expatriate workers in mosques about the requirement to update their travel permits at all ports of entry.
In a circular, the Mosques Sector clarified that the exit permit document, which was previously used by expatriates for traveling abroad, has been discontinued at all ports of entry, including sea and land borders. This printed permit is no longer valid and has been replaced by the digital exit permit certificate available through the Sahel app. The circular further emphasized that expatriates must obtain their exit permits well in advance of their travel dates. This process involves visiting the relevant administration to register their leave in the ministry's system, submitting a letter from the integrated systems, and visiting the integrated systems office at the ministry building to activate the exit permit on the Sahal app.
