25 warnings issued in Abu Futaira construction check

Kuwait Municipality launches safety inspections for construction sites.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 13: The Public Relations Department of Kuwait Municipality has announced the commencement of inspection campaigns aimed at verifying safety practices in residential areas. Teams from the Safety Department across the governorates will be scrutinizing construction sites to ensure compliance with safety requirements by construction contractors.

In a recent statement, the department revealed that the Safety Department’s supervisory team at the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Municipality branch conducted its first field campaign. This inspection focused on safety measures related to demolition and restoration operations, defacement sites, and the provision of construction rubble containers. The campaign, which took place in the Abu Futaira area, resulted in the issuance of 25 warnings and notices for non-compliance with safety systems. The inspections revealed deficiencies that exposed passers-by to potential hazards.

The administration has urged property owners to implement all necessary safety and security measures and adhere to municipal regulations. This includes providing containers for solid construction waste and ensuring that construction rubble is removed by the contractor and property owner. The Safety Department emphasized that failure to comply with these regulations could lead to legal penalties. The department’s oversight team has assured that it will not hesitate to enforce legal measures against any violations.
