KUWAIT CITY, Jan 22: Abdullah Al-Salem University and the Ministry of Health have signed an agreement to establish the College of Medicine and Health Sciences for the academic year 2026-2027. The signing ceremony was attended by Health Minister Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, and Chairman of the University’s Founding Board Dr. Moudi Al-Hamoud.
In a press statement made on the sidelines of the agreement’s signing, Minister Al-Awadhi described the establishment of the college as a pioneering step to strengthen academic and scientific fields in Kuwait. He emphasized that the agreement aims to promote integration between the health and academic sectors by leveraging the full range of resources, including facilities, services, human resources, technical expertise, and medical departments. It will also foster collaboration in research, knowledge exchange, and scientific cooperation between the Ministry and the university.
Minister Al-Jalal echoed this sentiment, stating that the agreement marks the foundation of the college and will significantly contribute to achieving the country’s development goals. He reaffirmed the Ministry of Higher Education's full support for the university’s ongoing educational journey.
Dr. Al-Hamoud, in her remarks, emphasized that the agreement represents a key step in enhancing cooperation, which will improve the quality of medical services, as well as support scientific research and innovation in line with the country’s national vision. She reiterated the university's commitment to moving forward with the establishment of the college according to its strategic plan for the academic year 2026-2027. Dr. Al-Hamoud also stressed the importance of investing in the development and training of young people, who are considered the foundation of future progress.
