KUWAIT CITY, March 24 : His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace, Monday, Sabeeh Al- Mukhaizeem who took the constitutional oath before His Highness the Amir as the new Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy. Present at the ceremony were His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Sabah, Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and senior state officials. Earlier, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah signed a Decree appointing Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem as Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy. According to article one of the decree, Al- Mukhaizeem would be assigned to the post of Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy. Article two of the decree tasked the Cabinet to implement the decree on the date of its issue, revoke all that was contrary to it. It will be published in the official gazette. Profile of Dr. Sabeeh Al-Mukhaizeem - Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy: Born in 1977, Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Kuwait University, which he earned in January 1999, and pursued his postgraduate studies in the US, obtaining a master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of California, San Diego, in March 2001. He completed his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Yale University in December 2003, followed by a Master of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering in December 2004, and completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering in June 2007. Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem has held several key positions in Kuwait’s education sector, he was the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education from 2018 to 2023 and was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arabian Gulf University during the same period. He chaired the Ministry of Higher Education’s Scholarship Committee and the committee for equivalency of Post-Secondary degrees from 2018 to 2023. He was also the Acting Secretary-General of the Council of Public Universities (2022- 2023) and as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Kuwait University (2012-2015). Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem was also a member of several governing bodies, including:
The Council of Public Universities (2021-2023)
The Board of Trustees of the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations (2019- 2023)
The Board of Directors of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation (2018-2023)
The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (2018-2023)
The Board of Trustees of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (2015- 2023)
The Board of Directors of Kuwait Uni-versity (2018-2019) He was also a board member of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (2017-2021) and a member of the Executive Council of UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education (2015-2021).

Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem was also actively involved in educational development, as:
A member of the Supreme Council of Education (2015-2019)
A board member of the National Center for Education Development (2015-2019)
A general assembly member of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (2015-2018)
Director General of the National Center for Education Development (2015-2018) Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem was a visiting faculty member at Yale University in 2009 and served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Kuwait University from 2007 to 2012. He also worked as a teaching assistant for multiple courses at Yale University and University of California, San Diego, between 1999 and 2007.

Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards, including:

The Young Researcher Award from the College of Engineering and Petroleum at Kuwait University (2010)
The Young Researcher Award in Applied Sciences at Kuwait University (2010)
Second place in the Scientific Poster Day competition at the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Kuwait University (2008) Dr. Al-Mukhaizeem holds two patents and has an extensive research portfolio, with 16 published studies in scientific journals and 31 research papers presented at conferences and specialized workshops.(KUNA)
