KUWAIT CITY, July 16: Dr. Mubarak Al-Dharwa, the Acting Dean of the College of Basic Education, has issued a new circular outlining the curriculum book guidelines to the heads of the practical departments. This move is aimed at easing the financial burden on students by allowing the reuse of textbooks.

According to a report by Al Rai newspaper, the circular permits students to reuse books previously owned by other students. This policy is in line with efforts to make education more accessible and affordable.

Dr. Al-Dharwa urged faculty members to comply with Resolution No. (2023/1432), which pertains to the regulations for supplying and pricing Arabic textbooks from the Authority’s colleges and institutes to the student library. He emphasized the importance of this directive in maintaining consistency and fairness in the availability of educational materials.

Additionally, he stressed that faculty and training members should encourage students to purchase textbooks from the student library. However, he clarified that students should not be obligated or questioned about their purchase decisions.

Dr. Al-Dharwa highlighted the prohibition of limiting the use of textbooks to a single use and endorsed the recirculation of used books among students. This policy aims to promote a more sustainable and economical approach to textbook usage within the college.
