New student health checks: Extended hours and additional clinics across governorates

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 15: The School Health Department is actively processing and examining new students as part of the exceptional registration period, according to Dr. Wafaa Al-Kandari, Director of the School Health Department at the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Al-Kandari announced that the department is facilitating the opening of health files for new students at clinics located in school health centers across all governorates. The clinics are organized based on the address registered on the civil ID of the students.

To accommodate the increased demand, the department has expanded the number of clinics and extended working hours to include both morning and evening shifts. This adjustment aims to streamline the examination process, particularly for kindergarten students.

The extended service hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the morning, and from 2:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the evening. Specific clinic locations include:

Capital Health District: Hamad Al-Saqr and Northwest Sulaibikhat Centers

Farwaniya Health District: Al-Raqqa and Al-Rabiya Centers

Mubarak Al-Kabeer Health District: School Health Center in Adan (Block 2, Street 60)

Hawalli Health District: School Health Center in Bayan (Block 7, Street 1)

Ahmadi Health District: Fahaheel and Sabah Al-Ahmad Centers (Sector D)

Jahra Health District: Jahra Health Complex and Al-Mutlaa Health Center (N10)

Dr. Al-Kandari noted that the Sabah Al-Ahmad and Al-Mutlaa clinics will operate only in the morning.

Parents are reminded to bring the following documents for registration: a copy of the guardian’s civil ID, a copy of the student’s civil ID, the student’s school acceptance notice, a copy of the birth certificate, a copy of the vaccination certificate, two recent personal photos of the student, a recent medical report if applicable, and the student’s presence with the guardian for the clinical examination.

These measures are part of the Ministry of Health’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment, ensuring that new students are fully prepared for the upcoming academic year. The registration and examination process will continue until Monday, September 30.
