KUWAIT CITY, July 16: A security source has informed a local daily that a forthcoming traffic law, expected to be enacted by the year's end, promises to significantly reduce traffic-related fatalities and injuries, while also curbing daily violations compared to current levels.
According to the source, discussions surrounding the implementation of stricter penalties proportional to the severity of violations have already resulted in improved adherence to traffic regulations. The source anticipates even greater compliance once the law is officially implemented.
Furthermore, Major General Yousef Al-Khudah, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Operations Affairs, has directed Traffic and Rescue Operations and Patrols to prioritize enforcement against violations such as children occupying front seats. Violations will result in penalties for vehicle owners, underscoring concerns about the safety risks posed to children in such instances.
