The Competitions and Players Affairs Committee of the Volleyball Federa- tion meeting in progress.

KUWAIT CITY Oct 15: The Competitions and Players Affairs Committee of the Volleyball Federation has announced that the new season will begin in November 2024, while age group competitions are set to kick off at the end of this month.

This decision was made during a meeting held the day before yesterday between the committee and representatives of participating clubs, where they discussed the structure and schedule of the upcoming competitions.

The competitions will commence after the conclusion of the 23rd Arab Championship for national teams, which will take place in Bahrain from September 29 to November 11, with Kuwait's national team ("Al-Azraq") participating. The season will open with the Federation Championship, followed by the Super Championship, featuring clubs Kuwait Club, Qadsia, Kazma, and Al-Arabi.

According to the schedule, the league is expected to begin in late December. It will initially follow a preliminary league format involving all clubs, from which the top six teams will qualify for the Premier League. The Premier League will operate on a home-and-away basis, with the top four teams advancing to the "Golden Square." In this phase, the first-place team will face the fourth, and the second will face the third in a best-of-three series. The winners will proceed to the final, while the losers will play for third place.

Meanwhile, the remaining teams will compete in the "Silver League" after the preliminary round. For the age group competitions starting this month, the Under-14 League will also begin with a preliminary round, followed by a Golden League for the top six teams and a Silver League for the remaining five. Similarly, the Under-16 League will see the top five teams advance to a Golden League, while the remaining four teams will compete in a Silver League.

In the previous 2023-2024 season, Kuwait Club won the Federation Championship, Super, and Premier League titles, while Al-Qadsia claimed the Federation Cup.
