Newly discovered comet appears in Kuwait’s sky at dawn
Kuwaiti astronomer captures stunning images of Tsuchinshan-Atlas comet.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: Comets are small icy bodies that orbit the solar system and can be visible to the naked eye when they are close to the sun. However, in many cases, telescopes are necessary to observe them.

One notable comet is the Tsuchinshan-Atlas Comet C/2023 A3, which was discovered by astronomers in 2023. This comet has a long orbital period, passing around the sun once every 80,000 years.

Kuwaiti astronomical photographer Khaled Al-Mutairi captured images of the comet from the Al-Salmi area in western Kuwait at 4:49 AM local time (1:49 GMT), with the comet positioned five degrees above the horizon.
