KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: Al Arabi has initiated negotiations with Nigerian professional Christopher John, with the club's management recently meeting the player and his agent. John is set to undergo a trial and is likely to feature in a friendly match against Khaitan tomorrow.

Should an agreement be reached, John will replace Algerian player Ahmed Khaldi, who joined the team at the start of the current season. Khaldi failed to gain approval from the technical and administrative staff, struggling to make an impact in the eight rounds of the Zain Premier League and the Asian Challenge Cup.

The 23-year-old John was selected based on a recommendation from head coach Nasser Al-Shatti, who aims to bolster the team's attacking line with a fast and versatile player. Known for his agility and ability to perform in midfield and on the left flank, John previously played for Egypt’s Al-Dakhiliya Club and Iraq’s Al-Zawraa.

In preparation for the upcoming phase, Al Arabi has announced plans for an external training camp in Qatar starting mid-December. The camp will feature a series of friendly matches to enhance the team’s readiness.
