KUWAIT CITY, May 13: Deputy Director General for Services Sector Affairs and Chairman of the Sanitation Committee at Kuwait Municipality Khalaf Al-Mutairi said there has been no coronavirus infection among the cleaners till date, indicating this is the result of preventive measures being taken by the cleaning companies.

In a statement to the daily, Al-Mutairi revealed all the cleaning workers under Municipality contracts are Bangladeshis. He confirmed these workers undergo basic health checks during entry and exit at Al-Shaween sites, which was transformed into their accommodation after they were moved from the residential areas.

He added the cleaning companies are making sure that their workers have no contact with anyone outside their accommodation. Al-Mutairi said periodic meetings are held with the cleaning managers in the governorates; disclosing these managers prepare reports and constantly check the health condition of workers to prevent coronavirus outbreak among them
