KUWAIT CITY, April 15: For the second time, a film featuring Israeli actress Gal Gadot has been banned from cinemas in Kuwait. Following the 2022 ban of Death on the Nile, the upcoming movie Snow White has now been pulled from Kuwaiti cinemas by the Kuwait National Cinema Company (Cinescape), Grand Cinema, and Vox Cinema.
Ibrahim Al-Juraidan, head of marketing at Cinescape, stated that the film was canceled due to Gadot’s involvement. The decision aligns with Kuwait’s official stance and came after public calls to prevent the film’s release.
In Snow White, directed by Marc Webb, Gadot plays the Evil Queen opposite Rachel Zegler in the title role. Gadot, a former conscript in the Israeli army, has faced widespread criticism from pro-Palestinian movements for her public support of the Israeli military and its actions in Gaza.
Similarly, Lebanese authorities have also banned the film from screening, citing a decision by the Arab League’s Boycott of Israel office, due to the participation of the Israeli actress.
