No Leave for Imams and Muezzins in Ramadan’s Final Ten Days

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 21: Kuwait's Ministry of Endowments has issued a circular outlining leave regulations for imams, preachers, and muezzins during Ramadan. The circular strictly prohibits any leave during the last ten days of the holy month due to the essential need for their presence in mosques. From the 1st to the 19th of Ramadan, leave is limited to a maximum of four days, provided a substitute from the same mosque is available, who in turn cannot request leave during this period. Additionally, the ministry has canceled the weekly rest day during Ramadan, citing the month’s religious significance and the increased number of worship activities.
