KUWAIT CITY, July 17: In reaction to the decision of the Health Ministry banning the sale of pharmaceutical products inside cooperative societies, supermarkets and perfume stores as per the executive decree of Law No. 28/2996 and ministerial decision no. 102/2016, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, the State Minister for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh confirmed an administrative decision has been issued preventing the sale of such products in cooperative societies and their branches.Al-Sabeeh stressed the decision was taken to preserve the safety and health of consumers, indicating some pharmaceutical products require doctor’s prescription to be sold. She called upon the cooperative societies to remove pharmaceutical products from their shelves, stressing tough penalties await violators.It is noteworthy the Minister of Health Dr Jamal Al-Harbi had addressed Al- Sabeeh on the importance of banning the sale of pharmaceutical products over-thecounter after receiving reports from the Medicine Inspection Directorate on the presence of such products inside the cooperative societies.
