KUWAIT CITY, Oct 24: As Kuwait gears up to host the highly anticipated 26th Arabian Gulf Cup Football Championship from December 21, 2024, to January 3, 2025, the government has introduced new measures to ensure the smooth execution of the tournament. In a formal communication, the Office of the Minister of State for Youth Affairs has requested that all public events, including weddings and social gatherings, be restricted in areas surrounding the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium and Al-Nasr Sports Club Stadium during the championship.
This decision follows recommendations from the Supreme Organizing Committee for the Gulf Championship (26), formed under Cabinet Resolution No. 2023/1216. The committee has emphasized that the focus must remain on the championship, a major national event, and efforts should be directed toward presenting it in the best possible manner.
By limiting public gatherings in the areas around the stadiums, the authorities aim to reduce disruptions and ensure traffic and security arrangements are optimized for the tournament. Kuwait is keen to make the event a grand success, showcasing its organizational capabilities to the world.
Further details about these restrictions will be shared through official channels, as the Ministry of State for Municipal Affairs prepares to issue a formal circular in the coming days.
