Non-degree expats over 60 allowed to transfer sectors

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: A recent decision issued by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and Minister of Defense Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah has opened the door for expatriate workers to transfer from the government sector to the private sector.

The Al-Seyassah daily said that Decision No. 11 of 2024, amends certain provisions of the Public Authority for Manpower’s Decision No. 842 of 2015, concerning the transfer of workers between employers. This new decision cancels Decision No. 1809 of 2023, which previously prohibited the transfer of government sector workers to the private sector if they do not hold a university degree.

Sources from the authority informed Al-Seyassah that the decision permits all government sector employees to transfer, including those over the age of 60.
