‘Nowhere to run ... senior or junior same in eyes of law’
Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf has affirmed that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is dedicated to Kuwait and that the latter’s first and last concern is to raise the status of the country everywhere while disclosing that His Highness’ priorities include protecting the national identity and applying the law on the senior before the junior.

In a statement when he visited the office of former MP Majed Al-Mutairi, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf asserted, “God willing, I will be up to the responsibility and trust that His Highness has given me in applying the law. I hope he will not be upset about applying the law to anyone.” He narrated the case of someone with dual citizenship: “A man came to the police station saying, I have dual nationality. This is my Kuwaiti nationality. Take it. I have not been sleeping well for two months due to fear that Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousuf will catch me today or in six months. Take away your nationality and let me sleep like other people.’’

He listened to the comments of some citizens in preparation for addressing their issues according to the law, while Al-Mutairi praised the efforts of the minister in serving the country and its citizens, thanking them for these efforts. In addition, the minister visited the diwaniyas of Sattam Al-Jalal Al-Sahli, Fahad Falah Bin Jamea, and Nada Abu Raqaba Al-Otaibi as part of his continuous visits to such places to have a dialogue with citizens.
