KUWAIT CITY, Feb 20: To enforce discipline and commitment within the security establishment, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, has issued two dismissal orders. The first pertains to an officer who was actively engaged on various social media platforms, while the second involves two policemen found guilty of assaulting a prisoner.
A security source informed that after monitoring the officer’s appearances in satirical videos on social media, a committee from the General Department of Control and Inspection was formed to investigate the matter. During the inquiry, the officer admitted to the authenticity of the clips. A report was submitted to the minister, who then decided to dismiss the officer for violating ministry regulations prohibiting police personnel from appearing or participating in social media activities without prior approval.
