JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia, Sept 7: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Saturday issued a strong condemnation of the killing of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, a 26-year-old American activist of Turkish origin, by Israeli occupation forces during a peaceful march in the occupied West Bank. The OIC also condemned the killing of 13-year-old Bana Amjad Bakr, who was shot during attacks by extremist settler militias under the protection of Israeli occupation forces on the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus in the West Bank.

In its statement, the OIC held the occupation forces accountable for these grave crimes, describing them as extensions of genocide and organized terrorism perpetrated daily against Palestinian civilians in blatant violation of international laws, norms, and relevant UN resolutions. The organization called for the establishment of an independent international committee to investigate these crimes and hold the perpetrators accountable.

The OIC stressed the need for the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities and implement its resolutions, including the imposition of an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and to end the policy of colonial settlement and the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

The Palestinian News Agency reported on Friday that Israeli occupation forces killed Aysenur Ezgi Egyi in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, in the northern West Bank. Eygi was shot in the head during a peaceful march from Beita towards Jabal Sabih, where the occupation maintains a settlement outpost. The clashes with Israeli forces resulted in the death of the American-Turkish activist.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health also reported that Bana Amjad Bakr was martyred after being shot by occupation forces in the town of Qaryut. Local sources indicated that Bana was shot while inside her home, as occupation forces targeted residential areas with gunfire while protecting settlers attacking the town.
