KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25: Sheikh Dr. Nemer Fahad AlMalik Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, stated that the "Oil Innovates 3" award, launched by the Ministry in mid-October, is part of efforts to promote innovation as a core element of sustainable development.

In a press statement issued on Monday, Sheikh Dr. Nemer Al-Sabah emphasized that investing in creative ideas is key to the future of the oil sector. He noted that the award aims to create a stimulating environment for innovators, both within and outside the ministry, by encouraging Kuwaiti youth to present solutions and ideas that improve operational efficiency and support sustainability within the oil industry.

He further explained that the award is part of the Ministry’s efforts to support the knowledge economy. The Ministry strives to set an example by adopting and implementing innovative ideas, in line with Kuwait's future vision to build a flexible and innovative oil sector.

Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director of Public Relations and Petroleum Media at the Ministry, added that the introductory meetings for students are designed to familiarize them with the Ministry's organizational structure and the various roles of its departments. She emphasized that the "Oil Innovates 3" award is more than just a competition; it is a platform for supporting young talent and highlighting their potential in developing the oil sector, in alignment with the Ministry's vision for digital transformation.

Sheikha Tamader Al-Sabah explained that the award offers participants the chance to understand the real challenges facing the oil sector, motivating them to think creatively and offer practical solutions using the latest technologies and innovations. She stressed that the Ministry views the award as an investment in young minds, relying on the new ideas presented by students to drive significant change in the sector.

The Ministry is committed to supporting projects aligned with its future goals, she added, highlighting that previous sessions of the award have proven it to be a promising platform for showcasing national talent capable of innovation. She emphasized the importance of continuing collaboration with educational institutions to foster creativity and enable the new generation to make meaningful contributions to the future of the sector.

Sheikha Tamader Al-Sabah concluded by stating that the Ministry believes the future of the petroleum sector depends on developing national talents with a creative vision and the ability to address challenges. "We remain committed to providing all the necessary support to the next generation of innovators and to driving positive, sustainable change that will enhance Kuwait’s position in the global petroleum sector," she said.
