Oman police add electric cars to patrol fleet for clean energy initiative
Royal Oman Police adds electric cars to patrol fleet

MUSCAT, Dec 4: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) announced on Wednesday that it has added a fleet of electric cars to its traffic and security patrol units. This initiative demonstrates the ROP's commitment to sustainable development and the adoption of clean energy solutions.

According to a statement, the move is part of the ROP’s efforts to balance security needs with environmental protection, incorporating the latest technologies and eco-friendly systems into its operations. The ROP emphasized the importance of utilizing clean energy for daily tasks while also promoting the shift toward carbon-free vehicles.

It is worth noting that the Sultanate of Oman offers several incentives for acquiring electric cars, including exemptions from customs taxes, value-added tax, and registration fees with the ROP.

The use of electric vehicles is on the rise globally due to their modern technology, efficiency, and environmental benefits. These vehicles do not emit harmful gases, are easy to operate, and operate quietly without disruptive noise.
