KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: Oman coach Rashid Jaber emphasized the importance of the upcoming match against Qatar, following a draw in the first round. Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Jaber stated that this match is crucial for gaining points, and that focus, mental presence, and capitalizing on opportunities will be key to success. Jaber explained that taking advantage of opportunities requires quick decision-making, which is tied to both the player's intelligence and skill.

He added that all teams, including Oman, are facing challenges in the offensive aspect of their game. Jaber also mentioned that efforts are underway to prepare Salah Al-Yahyaei for the Qatar match, with his health being a top priority. While Al-Yahyaei's participation in the tournament is confirmed, his involvement in the match against Qatar is still uncertain. Additionally, the team will continue to miss the services of Mohsen Al-Ghassani.

He noted that while the outcome of the Qatar match will not determine the team's qualification for the semi-finals, he believes Oman can defeat Qatar, as the Gulf Cup is distinct from continental tournaments. Jaber expressed confidence in the Omani team’s potential to progress far in the "Khaleeji Zain 26". Jaber concluded by stating that the chances of winning the Gulf title are nearly equal for all teams, but success will depend on various factors such as player performance, seizing opportunities, preparation, game analysis, and fan support.

Qatar coach, Luis Garcia, emphasized that a draw with the UAE is a common occurrence in football. Speaking at a press conference, he acknowledged the team's limited preparation time but assured that it is ready for its upcoming match against Oman. He mentioned that the training program before the game focused solely on recovery. Regarding the inclusion of new players in the team, Garcia said, "It's important to bring fresh talent into the squad, and we have several young players. We aim to develop them, as they represent the future of the Qatari national team."

He highlighted that each match presents unique challenges, and while the opening round against the UAE was difficult, the team is focused on achieving their goals. On the upcoming clash with Oman, Garcia described it as a tough match. "The Omani team is strong, with counterattacks being one of their key strengths. Football, like life, has its ups and downs," he said. Garcia emphasized his desire for the team to perform at its best, recalling its victorious run in the Asian Cup. He concluded, "To compete effectively, we must adapt to the opponent’s style. Just like we openly played the UAE match, we aim to approach the Omani match with the same mentality and secure a victory."
