KUWAIT CITY, Nov 29: Head of the Kuwaiti Physiotherapy Society, Hana Al-Khamis, announced the launch of the telehealth program “Physitrack” which will soon provide treatment prescribed by physiotherapists ‘electronically’ in a professional manner that makes it easy for the patient to follow it at home in natural environment without the need for frequent visits to the physiotherapy departments in the health centers to protect patients from Covid- 19 pandemic.
Al-Khamis said in a press statement this step came after the society received a grant from the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), within the society’s Corona Covid-19 emergency response program, based on the institution’s presentation of the program proposal supported by the necessary documents submitted by the society’s Vice-President Dr Nawal Al Sayegh indicating its importance in the interest of patients and their families.
She explained that the society will provide the membership of the “Physitrack” program to a number of physiotherapists with priority for the members of the society, indicating that the program includes visual communication and a library containing ‘videos’ of therapeutic exercises, as well as an explanation of those exercises developed by specialists in physical therapy.
