Online registration for NBK Run continues

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 31: The registration for the National Bank of Kuwait’s (NBK) Run continues online through the Suffix website. NBK Run is scheduled to kick off on Saturday 14th, December 2024.

The race for both the female and male participants will start at 8:30 am with two distances beginning and ending at Kuwait Towers. The starting point of 10 km, heads toward Souq Sharq before turning and continuing along the Gulf Road to 200 meters before the Green Island intersection, then looping back to Kuwait Towers and the starting point of 5 km, which will follow a similar route, reaching the Army Officers' Club before heading back to Kuwait Towers.

Participants can still register until spots are filled. Applicants can then collect their assigned T-shirt and number next to Kuwait Towers from December 12 to December 13, between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

NBK will award the top 3 winners (women and men) in the 10 km race with KD 1000, KD 700, and KD 500 cash prizes. The top3 winners (women and men) in the 5 km race will win KD 500, KD 400, and KD 300 cash prizes.

NBK Public Relations and Event Management Executive Manager, Talal Al Turki said: “As the first sports event in Kuwait and the GCC, NBK Run continues its long tradition in supporting its community”. “Every year, people wait for NBK’s Run. We are keen to meet people’s expectations every year because it’s our duty and commitment. he stressed. “Over the past 30 years, our aim was not only to encourage people to participate but also to enjoy the event.”

Al Turki also commented on the great collaboration of various partners and institutions that contribute to the success of this sports festival and commended the continuous support of different ministries and governmental institutions, headed by Health-Medical Emergency, Kuwait Fire Force and the Ministry of Interior.

The event is also marked by a special partnership with EQUATE Petrochemicals, with the paraathletes category, including three groups: wheelchair users, the visually impaired, and those with leg prosthetics. EQUATE will offer cash prizes to the top five winners in the men’s and women’s categories for the 5 km race, with awards of KD 500, KD 400, KD 300, and two prizes of KD 100 accordingly.

Strategic partner Ooredoo will also provide iPhones, Apple Watches, and "Shamel" packages to the top three winners of the Run. Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa will offer valuable vouchers to the top 12 winners of all categories.

Closing Ceremony Raffles

The closing ceremony will feature special raffles open to all registered participants. Al Babtain Group, a strategic partner, will raffle off a 2024 Nissan X-Trail. Ooredoo will offer an exceptional prize of a KD 5,000 Platinum Line. Touristic Enterprises Company will provide 18,000 entry tickets to its parks and facilities (including Winter Wonderland and South Sabahiyah Park) to all participants. Additionally, Ali Abdulwahab Al Mutawa will offer prizes from their "Intersport" and "Joe & The Juice" brands to raffle participants. CHIPS Store will also offer two lucky winners Apple devices.

People who registered in NBK Run will be eligible to enter the grand draw and have the chance to win one of these prizes and rewards. The draw will take place under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce.
