KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the launch of the service for the issuance of general import license which can be generated online by the applicant, provided the activity allows the issuance of this license via the ministry's electronic portal for receiving the ministry's clients - eapp.moci.gov.kw, reports Al-Anba daily.

In a press statement, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry stressed that this service comes as a continuation of the development process in the ministry.

It called on all companies to use the e-service and ensure instant issuance of licenses without the administration employee reviewing it through the aforementioned online portal.

The ministry explained that this service comes as a continuation of the project to digitize corporate management services and as part of accelerated steps for a complete restructuring of the corporate sector services and commercial licenses. It provides comprehensive services online without the need for personally visiting the ministry for carrying out most transactions, as such services can save 900 visits on a monthly basis.

In addition, these services have also reduced the visits of government agencies through electronic linking with them, as well as enhanced the ability of the ministry's employees to work without creating a backlog.

The ministry stated that the digitization of services for the sectors of the ministry reduces the application procedures.

It stressed that the ministry, in order to complete the aforementioned transactions, has electronic links with many relevant government agencies, adding that links with  other authorities are being completed with the aim of providing complete online transactions to the references without the need for review.
