Only 30 Water Spraying Incidents Reported, Violations Drop by 98%

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 26: Colonel Fahd Al-Essa, Director of the Traffic Awareness Department at the Ministry of Interior, has commended the public's cooperation in ensuring that this year’s national celebrations were held in a civilized and orderly manner. He revealed that only 30 reports of water spraying were received, marking a 98 percent decrease in incidents compared to previous years.

Al-Essa highlighted that  Kuwaiti citizens and expats adhered to the Ministry of Interior's instructions and guidelines, which emphasized respectfully celebrating the national occasion, free from traffic violations and negative behaviors seen in past years. The success of the celebration was attributed to careful planning, which included deployment instructions from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef. Security forces were strategically stationed at key locations across the country, including popular gathering spots like the Abdali and Wafra farms, chalets, Kabd, Jaber Bridge, Subiya, Martyr's Park, and Arabian Gulf Street.

Al-Essa noted that the efforts of field agencies were further supported by 194 female students from the Women’s Police Institute, as well as officer students, ensuring efficient handling of reports. Additionally, coordination with the Environment Authority helped address certain issues, contributing to a smooth and civilized celebration.

On the day of the celebration, authorities received 30 reports of water spraying, which were referred to the relevant authorities for legal action, along with two reports of run-over accidents, which fortunately resulted in no injuries. Only four reports of minor accidents were filed, representing a significant drop in incidents. In total, 4,000 various traffic violations were issued during the celebration period.
