There is no doubt that our battle against Israel, and all other hostile forces, is much easier than our battle with ignorance!

Some ignorant people on the X platform said, and they constitute the overwhelming majority of people who tweeted that it was our oil and money that liberated our homeland in 1991, and this is morally offensive and wrongful estimation to reduce the role of America, Britain, Saudi Arabia, and 30 other countries.

For example, how much money Kuwait must pay America, to send more than six hundred thousand soldiers, among its best sons, to liberate Kuwait, and potentially tens of thousands of them subsequently lost their lives in battles with an oppressive regime that was known for no hesitation in using any “unconventional” means to annihilate its enemies?

Aren't these ignorant tweeters ashamed to claim that America's only concern was our oil, or our petrodollars? Is there a price that could have compensated for the loss of this terrible number of the lives of its soldiers?

I happened to be present in the first days of liberation in Dammam and Khafji regions, and I saw the huge warehouses that America had rented and equipped with all means of cooling, to be temporary warehouses to preserve the bodies of thousands of soldiers, whom I expected to be exposed to death by gases and other chemical weapons, especially given Saddam’s precedents and actions with his people.

This is evidenced by how could a smug mind be so naive and believe, even for a moment, that everything that Kuwait had in its days could have tempted a superpower, such as America, to make all those sacrifices in order to obtain it, even though it did not originally demand it, and this does not mean here, America was acting for the sake of protecting us.

There is no doubt that it was acting according to its interests, which coincided with our interests in liberating our homeland, and money was not at the core of the issue.

What about Saudi Arabia, which participated with one hundred thousand soldiers in the liberation war, and opened its lands and airspace to the coalition forces to begin the battle, and exposed itself to high risks due to Saddam’s madness and recklessness, and it knew very well the extent of the grave dangers to which it would be exposed, and yet it participated effectively in the liberation battle. Iraq ended up firing 43 missiles at Saudi Arabia. Did it also do what it did for the sake of “our oil and our petrodollars”?

The liberation war cost huge sums of money, which could have been spent on developing the region had it not been for the stupidity of Saddam and other bloody leaders who plagued the nation.

The United States pledged to liberate Kuwait, recruited 600,000 American soldiers, and estimated the cost of the liberation operation at $61 billion, from American taxpayers’ money.

However, it was subsequently agreed that Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Germany and the Emirates would pay $53 billion as a contribution to the final cost, and thus it cost America approximately ten billion dollars, and this is the opposite of what some people believed and still believe, and all this information can be found from its accurate and reliable sources on the Internet.

Kuwait's share of the total cost of the liberation war amounted to only $16 billion. After the liberation, it did not give a single barrel of oil for free to any party, and America did not ask for anything at all!

Whoever wants the right to hate America and strongly denounce its support for Israel in its recent horrific aggression against Gaza, must not blind us to the truth, which is that it is the one who restored our homeland to us, and it is the only one who can “today” defend our existence!

We hope that these words will silence the biased and naive voices, and that we will know that our real battle is with ignorance, and not with any other enemy
