Aggression must stop immediately: diplomats
KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: The Palestinian Ambassador to Kuwait Rami Tahboub says the opening session of the National Assembly came as a surprise due to the speech delivered by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishael Al-Ahmad, especially the part concerning the Palestinian issue. He said, “It is enough to see the position of the leadership, people, and parliament of Kuwait, and the allocation of a special session for Palestine, which reflects what Palestine means to the people and leadership of Kuwait. Words of gratitude are not sufficient to describe what we feel towards Kuwait.”
In a press statement issued on the sidelines of the solidarity stand called for by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps yesterday morning at the Palestinian Embassy, in the presence of a number of ambassadors and diplomatic staff, Ambassador Tahboub revealed that the number of children who were martyred or who are still under the rubble has exceeded 5,000. He said, “Nothing will replace a drop of blood from a child, infant, or fetus. This aggression must stop immediately.”
Ambassador Tahboub highlighted that the European presence was strong, along with the Asian, Latin American, African, and Arab presence, as this is considered a message to the whole world, adding that the world has realized who is the oppressor and who is the oppressed. He said, “What concerns us now is to stop the aggression, as the occupation is trying to open a new page in the history of the Palestinian issue. In fact, the Prime Minister of the occupation government had announced that October 7 is considered the second independence.
However, for the Palestinian people, it is considered the second Nakba, The Nakba began in 1948 and continued for 76 years. October 7 will neither be accepted by us nor will it erase the Nakba of 1948 and the Nakba of 1967. Whoever believes that the Palestinian people will leave their land is mistaken. We will remain in our land, and the mistakes we made in the past will not be repeated again. The evidence of the validity of this is what the Palestinian leadership says about what the occupying state is doing now against Gaza and the West Bank. The barbarism, brutality, and filth that describe this aggression are not insignificant to it.”
Regarding holding a meeting soon in Riyadh at the request of Palestine and Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Tahboub said, “Our hope always remains in the Arab nation and the Arab people. The nation is our strategic depth and our refuge, and, God willing, the summit will come out to the satisfaction of all Arabs.” Meanwhile, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and the Tajik Ambassador to Kuwait Zubaidullah Zubaidov said, “In accordance with the recent resolution issued by the United Nations General Assembly, we call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the cessation of any military operations, and the preservation of defenseless civilians, especially women, children, and the elderly.”
Condolences He offered his sincere condolences to the brave Palestinians for the fall of thousands of civilians, especially women, children, and the elderly, as martyrs and victims during clashes and military operations. Ambassador Zubaidov stressed that targeting unarmed civilians and bombing hospitals, schools and civilian infrastructure facilities is unacceptable and must be stopped immediately. He called for an immediate halt to the killing and to resolve the issue through negotiation and tangible means, adding, “We fully support the Arab initiative, which stipulates a two-state solution and the establishment of the State of Palestine on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.” Furthermore, the Egyptian Ambassador to Kuwait Osama Shaltut explained that, “All embassies accredited to Kuwait responded to this call and supported the Palestinian right.
This symbolism has great significance and represents the countries’ positions and support for the Palestinian right. It affirms that Palestine is still the Arabs’ first issue. We look forward to stopping the collective punishment practiced by the occupying state and the forced displacement of Palestinian citizens. Egypt has made several appeals since the beginning of the crisis, and the Egyptian President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs have made many contacts. We held a peace conference to urge all countries of the world to stand with the Palestinian right.” In this regard, the Ambassador of Oman to Kuwait Dr. Saleh Al-Kharusi said, “This solidarity stance was called for by the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps. The Sultanate of Oman stands with the Palestinian right to get what they deserve in accordance with international resolutions. We stand in solidarity with the very difficult circumstances that the Palestinians are going through, and we wish them safety and the return of stability for them.” He expressed the regret of the Omani leadership, government, and people for the actions that occurred in the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian territories, as Oman has always adhered to humanitarian principles and international law. Ambassador Dr. Al-Kharusi revealed that “Oman is chairing the 44th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council. According to this framework, it plays a possible role in calming the situation. Our commitment within the United Nations and within the collective Gulf, Arab, and Islamic effort is always making efforts to reach a solution to this crisis.” Meanwhile, the Ambassador of Sudan to Kuwait Mohieddin Salem said, “We are taking this symbolic stance that expresses support for the Palestinian cause and support for the brothers who are being subjected to genocide in Gaza and the West Bank by the usurping Zionist entity that occupied their land and displaced them.”
Also, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Kuwait Malik Muhammad Farouk affirmed that his country stands with the Palestinian right to achieve independence and establish their state, adding, “This stance stems from our rejection of what is happening in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli attacks on the people. The situation in the Gaza Strip has become catastrophic. We demand the need to stop the war and bring in aid. This is our position.” Furthermore, the Turkish Ambassador to Kuwait Tuba Nur Sönmez explained that Israel must go back and look at the crimes against humanity that occurred, and it must be seriously aware that what it is doing is against international law and against those who support it as well.
They should be aware that the day will come and Israel will pay the price for committing these heinous crimes, such as what happened in Bosnia and Kosovo, in international courts. Regarding Netanyahu’s statements to prolong the war in Gaza, she said that the international community must take action and put pressure on the Israeli side to stop the war quickly, adding, “This is what we are doing in Turkey, as some of those who were supporting this war changed their position. Turkey was frank with those who support Israel with weapons and money to annihilate the Palestinian people, and we strongly reject this matter.”
Regarding what was published about Turkey’s move to expel Hamas leaders based on American pressure, she said, “I have not heard of this false news. Hamas was chosen by the Palestinian people in fair elections. It is a political party and part of the Palestinian people. We reject the classification of Hamas as a terrorist organization. We support the choices of the Palestinian people and their choice of who represents them” In this regard, the Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait Mohammad Toutounchi explained that the conditions prevailing in occupied Palestine today are a practical example of creating regional and international tension and committing crimes and genocide. The occupation of Palestine, the usurpation of the land of an ancient people, the displacement of most of its population for 75 years, and the persecution of its steadfast people in Gaza and the Strip, are not just an issue of Palestine and Israel, or the Arabs and Israel, or even Muslims and Israel, but it is the issue of humanity and the entire international community.
Therefore, all countries must shoulder their responsibilities to put an end to this inhuman and shameful situation. Preventing this crime from occurring must be a priority for the international community. The silence and indifference of the global community towards the “madness” of the Zionist entity will produce destructive and remorseful results. In addition, the Iraqi Ambassador Al-Manhal Al-Saficalled on people to observe a minute of silence for the souls of the Palestinian martyrs and in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
