Over 150 Filipino nurses set to arrive in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 14: Coinciding with the upcoming arrival of the first batch of Filipino domestic workers to Kuwait, scheduled for tomorrow, informed sources have announced that the Philippine Embassy has approved the recruitment of over 150 skilled workers, including male and female nurses. This marks the first group of Filipino domestic workers arriving in Kuwait after a halt of more than a year and a half, with the initial group consisting of 32 female workers.

According to sources, the embassy has received the first visas for skilled workers, following approval. Two private hospitals in Kuwait are set to receive around 80 male and female nurses each, with the completion of their recruitment procedures expected to take approximately two months.

This development signals a significant step toward addressing the shortage of domestic workers in Kuwait. The return of Filipino workers, including those transitioning to the private sector, is expected to ease the existing labor shortage in both the domestic and healthcare sectors.
