KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: With the registration deadline for pilgrims closing tomorrow at 12 noon, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has begun sorting through 30,000 applications submitted via the online Hajj platform. According to informed sources speaking to Al-Seyassah, 8,000 Kuwaiti citizens will be selected to perform Hajj this year, based on specific conditions and priorities.
The sorting process categorizes applicants into three age groups, with priority given to the oldest in each category. The first group includes individuals over 60 years old, the second group ranges from 35 to 59 years old, and the third group includes applicants below the age of 34.
The ministry confirmed that expats may only register if they are accompanying first-degree Kuwaiti relatives, such as a mother, a Kuwaiti spouse, or children of a Kuwaiti woman.
The Ministry also approved 67 campaigns and licensed companies for the upcoming Hajj season. Prices for Hajj packages start at 1,590 Kuwaiti dinars and can go up to 18,000 dinars, depending on the services provided and the preferences of the pilgrims.
