KUWAIT CITY, Dec 21: The Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior announced the issuance of 4,122 traffic citations for violations such as not wearing seat belts and using mobile phones while driving, through the automated monitoring enhanced by artificial intelligence technologies. The department clarified that these violations occurred between December 12 and December 15, just 4 days. The Ministry urged all road users to comply with traffic regulations, emphasizing the importance of continuous monitoring and awareness campaigns to ensure public safety.
It called on drivers to take responsibility for adhering to traffic rules to create a safer road environment for everyone. Meanwhile, with the recent rainfall, some areas witnessed a decrease in reckless driving, due to the new measures implemented by the Ministry of Interior. These measures include referring reckless drivers to Central Prison after filing cases for damaging state property and seizing their vehicles. The streets have been notably free of such incidents because of the increased security presence and stricter penalties for reckless driving violations.
