KUWAIT CITY, Feb 5: The total number of female employees at the Ministry of Social Affairs who were recently affected by decisions and decrees to withdraw or revoke citizenship based on Article 8 has surpassed 80 in various sectors of the ministry. However, no employee holding the director, supervisor, or department head positions are included in this group, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting informed sources. They explained that the Financial and Administrative Affairs Department of the Ministry of Social Affairs recently disbursed all financial dues to these employees, in coordination with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and in line with directives from the political leadership.
The working team, recently formed based on a decision by the acting Undersecretary of the ministry Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi to implement procedures for female employees whose citizenships were withdrawn, is continuing its efforts by reviewing the names received from relevant authorities and taking the necessary actions. The team is finalizing contracts for the employees’ assistance starting from the day following the decisions and decrees were issued and published in the official gazette for one year. Each affected female employee will receive a monthly bonus equivalent to her last full salary before the decision, under the rules, laws, and regulations of the CSC, and in coordination with other relevant government bodies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Public Institution for Social Security and CSC.
