Owaid Al-Enezi

DUBAI, April 16: The Gulf Basketball Federations have unanimously nominated Owaid Al-Enezi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Kuwait Basketball Federation, as a new member of the Arab Basketball Federation. The decision was made during a recent meeting held in Dubai, following the withdrawal of Oman's candidate, Khalfan Al-Naabi.

Thamer Al-Shanfa, Secretary-General of the Kuwait Basketball Federation and the official representative in the elections, expressed his gratitude to the Gulf Federations for their continued trust in Kuwait's sports leadership.

“We are deeply thankful for the confidence placed in Owaid Al-Enezi,” Al-Shanfa said. “I would also like to extend our appreciation to Khalfan Al-Naabi for his gesture in stepping aside, which allowed for Kuwait’s representation to be strengthened.”

Al-Shanfa emphasized that Kuwait is home to many highly capable and experienced sports administrators who continue to demonstrate excellence on regional and international stages.
