North Yorkshire, Jan 8: Ellis Dismore, 24, has been sentenced to 43 years in prison for the attempted murder of a 15-year-old girl and multiple offenses against other young victims. The Middlesbrough man used fake online profiles to groom and manipulate underage girls over seven years.
On June 22, 2023, Dismore ambushed his primary victim as she walked home from school. He stabbed her multiple times before a passing motorist intervened, saving her life. The attack was captured on dashcam footage.
During the investigation, police uncovered evidence of Dismore's extensive online predatory behavior, leading to charges related to eight additional victims. He was found guilty of 26 offenses, including attempted murder, inciting children into sexual activity, and making indecent photographs of children.
Dismore's sentence comprises 38 years in prison and five years on extended license. He will be subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and must register as a sex offender for life.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Hamilton described Dismore as a "violent predator" who used fake social media accounts to groom and stalk young girls. The Crown Prosecution Service emphasized the bravery of the victims in helping to secure Dismore's conviction
