KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14, (Agencies): In a tragic turn of events, a Palestinian teacher residing in Kuwait suffered the devastating loss of 11 family members due to the Israeli bombardment in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. Areej Qanan, who had only recently arrived in Kuwait two months ago, is now grappling with the profound grief of losing her entire family, including her father, mother, sisters, brother, and wife.

In a heartwarming display of solidarity, Dr. Adel Al Mane, the Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Scientific Research, reached out to Areej Qanan to extend his condolences and reaffirm Kuwait's unwavering support for the Palestinian people. Minister Al Mane assured the grieving teacher of his full support for both male and female educators hailing from the Gaza Strip and the occupied territories who are currently working in Kuwait. He also paid tribute to the Palestinian martyrs who valiantly sacrificed their lives in defense of their homeland and the Palestinian cause.

Furthermore, the minister expressed his profound solidarity with Palestinian teachers who, like Areej Qanan, have tragically lost family members as a result of the Israeli airstrikes. It is important to note that Kuwait is home to hundreds of Palestinian teachers who have come from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to contribute to the country's educational system. This unfortunate incident highlights the profound human toll of the conflict in the region and the importance of international support and solidarity in such trying times.
